Starwars.sg recently visited the home of Jeffrey, who has been collecting Star Wars toys since the launch of the POTF2 range of figures a decade ago.  We got to know Jeffrey from the China Square Central flea market, where the interesting customised figures at his table caught our eyes.

Clones unmasked.

Jeffrey first learnt the "boil-and-pop" technique from a friend, and has been honing his skill for the past 5 years.  Today, his works go beyond the basic swapping of heads and limbs - Jeffrey has customised body parts and even begun providing ball-and-socket joints for the heads.  Over 10% of his current collection are truly exclusives - unique self-made customs of characters which have not been produced by Hasbro/Kenner, or improvements to existing versions.

Cantina patrons galore.  We understand a full-scaled cantina itself is in the works!

Innovative use of existing figures - the head is used back-to-front and carved to desired shape.

Tools of the trade.

His inspiration is drawn from the movies, as well as his well-stocked collection of Star Wars books that describe the vast array of characters in the Star Wars universe.  Having decided on a character to customise, Jeffrey then embarks on researching online and reviewing the movie scenes many times over, to study the features and details of the character.

Jeffrey's favourite piece, with ball-jointed head.  See if you can identify the parts used.

Working in the graphics design industry by day, camera-shy Jeffrey (who chose not to be photographed with his collection) spends his nights and weekends working on his hobby.  What drives this fan to customise figures is his passion for Star Wars, which he expressed it best, summing up the feelings of many of us, when he told us "Star Wars is part of my life".

May the Force be with us all.
